The Last Commute
This series observes elderly passengers in the metro — bodies in motion through space, yet heavy with time.
The train moves quickly, but they move slowly: through memory, through routine, through the quiet interior world of waiting. The metro therefore becomes more than transportation — it becomes a metaphor for time itself: forward-moving, inevitable, finite. These are the people we ride beside but rarely truly see. The Last Commute invites us to witness their passage, and to consider the universality of life’s final transitions.
