Sophia Borzilleri was born and raised on the east end of Long Island, New York, in two rural towns steeped in American history. She graduated from Tufts University with a double major in Philosophy and Cognitive Psychology, a foundation that continues to inform her way of seeing the world.
After working in a demanding strategic role in New York City, she left to explore new ways of experiencing and understanding the world. Over the years, her travels have taken her to more than forty countries.
Sophia now studies at the International School of Photography in Berlin under Marc Volk, where she is developing her own voice as an artist through an ongoing series that connects philosophical ideas with visual images.
