Portraits in Paris is part of an ongoing series where I wander the city, introducing myself to strangers and asking them questions about their lives. Each photograph emerges from a brief exchange — a moment of curiosity, trust, and human connection.
Before I pick up the camera, I start with a question.
“Well, I’m originally from Boston but I have been an art dealer here in Paris for the last thirty years. And, let me tell you, things have never been slower for me. I tell you, I’m kinda a big deal.”
"Is this for some sorta fashion magazine or something?
"Can I get your number?
"I don't post for free — you're joining."
"Well, this has never happened to us before."
"We will move in just a sec!" "The job pays well, what can I say?"
"He's my gay best-friend!"
